Touch-up Paint

Post by fman »

Just a heads-up for folks looking for some paint for their cars.
Ordered some Tornado red paint from PAINTS4U.COM, on their page they offer delivery
to mainland Europe and international delivery.
5 days after accepting my order I received an email saying they were sorry but could
not deliver my paint order "over water" and did I have another address I could get delivered to?
I live on mainland Scotland but it appears their maps must have already pre-empted the devolution vote.
Be aware folks.

I've used this company for paint and they are a good match but I don't have a red car so can't comment on that.
The also list delivery to Scottish highlands.

That is strange not delivering to Scotland. I got my touch up paint from Halfords but haven't had time yet or decent weather to apply it. I am praying they have done a decent job in mixing up the right stuff. My friend bought his touch up from them for his classic car and it didn't match but I think mine is easier to mix

When I tried halfords the paint was no where near the colour I wanted, I guess it's just down to how well trained and good the person is mixing it.

You could always try VW, I bought a spray can of Alpine White a couple of years ago and also a touch up pencil, and guess what, it matches!

i've used Paints4U a few times, good quality paint with great colour match.

i've also had small cans and a touch up pen from the dealer, again perfect match for colour on mt Alpine White rocco. The only thing i would add is the paint can from the dealer were a thicker consistancy which lead to a few runs conpared to the paint from Paints 4U, which was spot on for painting larger areas link bumpers and repair patches

yeah I got a local dealer to mix up a can for me, it was a poor match, hence I have to find another supplier. The touch-up from the VW dealer is a good match though
