That's a fantastic looking GTX. It's amazing how new number plates can take years off the look of a car. That's always one of my first jobs with a new motor.
I wonder if you car is an ex VW press vehicle with it having that logo on the number plate.
Currently without a car (long story)
Previous rides. 2x 89 Scirocco GTs & 84 Storm

I don't know, I'm sure I remember my Mum having a Mk1 Golf with the same logo on "We keep them the way they are built"

Was going to say, i'm so glad that you got a replica of the original plate. so so so much better than the new font plates you get in Halfords, they look utterly wrong
Previously owned:
1988 1.6 GT
1989 1.8 GT
1982 1.6 GTI
1993 Corrado VR6

Look at the 5, compare it with the old plate. That is the new font, designed to make it look less like an S.

That would be the new font much narrower letters.

Hi Oli,
I got some old style plates with the earlier font made up by DMB who advertise on Mk1 Golf owners club forum if that helps.
They even incorporated the BRMotorsport garage name details for me - see the A20 project thread.
