mk1 chin spoiler

Post by Nate »

my mk1 chin spoiler has seen better days, and although i probably could repair it if i put my mind to it, it would take lots of work.

how similar in shape is the mk1 golf "duckbill" one? could it be easily persuaded to fit?

I'm sure that bronze 20vt car on bbs that was being touted around here a while back had a golf spoiler mate.

If you can't find it in here it comes up reasonably quick when you google image mk1 scirocco, had colour coded bumpers.
I always remember the arsey way one of the past keepers tried to sell it on here.

in case anyone is interested, it doesn't fit. after a few minutes on the bandsaw changing the shape of the ends slightly, it kinda fits. only the middle mounting hole lines up with what's already there though. going to need to drill holes in the plastic for the middle bolts, and holes in the car for eh outside bolts. the 2 outside bolt holes on the car are not covered by the golf spoiler, as it is a few inches narrower. still undecided if i'll fit it or not, but it's hardly urgent...
