led clock

Post by pasenah »

The led clock in my dash is faulty. I have a spare set of dash clocks and wondered how easy it would be to swap it?
I would use the spare dash clocks but they have over 100k more on the miles.

Cheers

Very easy. One the clocks are out of the car very carefully you need to remove the blue pcb off the back and all screws around the back edge of theclocks once off the cluster should come away from the housing in three parts:-
Rev counter, odometer and the light cluster with the clock in.
If you can just swap all the center unit as they are generally all the same unless you have something special in your clocks or very old.
Put it all back together in reverse order.
Just be VERY carefull with the blue ribbon pcb on the rear of the clocks as they are easily damaged

I dont mind project cars but I HATE SANDING!!!

Do not know where they went but here they are again.

Do not take out the screws at the front or the whole clock will fall apart.

Only undo the screws that will release the printplate which are on the back.

Finally got round to having a go at this and have discovered my spare set are different to your pictures.

In mine the LCD clock and rev clock are one piece, so now I'm not sure what I will have that is currently in the car?

Although, looking at your pics again I see you have a needle gauge above your clock, where as in both mine I have a water temp, so should be the same I guess...
