Hand break light issue
Right so the re wire is complete out the dash back in ect and then I remember I hadn't check the hand break light.. So I check it, nothing
However if the headlights/slide lights are on it works. But with them off it doesn't.
So confused, any ideas?
I'm guessing it's just connected wrong but no idea on the colours it should be connected to
Thanks

Re: Hand break light issue
Looking through the Haynes hasn't really helped either says the hand break cable is grey but mines black, and also said it connects to grey and red and grey and black. However the car seems to be on blue and brown and green and grey??

Re: Hand break light issue
The handbrake warning light also doubles up as a low brake fluid warning, the colours you are referring to are the connections for that. The handbrake switch is connected by a black single cable, in fact the switch is the same as the boot light and doors.

Re: Hand break light issue
from memory, you should have an ignition +ve to one side of the warning light, and a switched earth to the other. this will come from the cap on the brake cylinder and the switch under the h'brake lever

Re: Hand break light issue
Ok.
What i can see is the black handbreak cable behind the fuse box connects to a plug with a green/grey and blue/brown wire.
the blue/brown wiring feeds into another loom socket on the fusebox (with the blue plug) and i presume the green/grey goes to the back of the dash light as on there it has a green/grey and a black

Re: Hand break light issue
Problem eventually solved
me and Ian worked out what was wrong, which was an ignition live feed. But it also turns out it has to be to a certain one for it to work lol grr but there now
