Window Scraper Alternative

Post by jbo »

Hi All,

My scrapers are in such a poor state I need to sort something out. I had a search online and people have said they have had sucess using mk1 inner scrapers as a replacement with a bit of a trim.

Anyone had much luck with this? There are a few places that still sell these.

Cheers
Jason

I used trimmed down polo scrapers from a mk3 2 door. They sit higher than scirocco ones but do the job just as well.
Depends on how bothered you are about the way they look.

Did you get these from VW Heritage?

I've looked at VAGCAT and it's coming back with part numbers 867837477 and 867837478. One is showing as "Window Slot Seal" and the other as "Rip Plate." I assume this is just an error in the description as the prices are the same.

Cheers

I will try get you a picture but I'm struggling to upload pictures from my phone.
I keep getting 256mb upload limit pop up when I try.
I got the seals from a scrapyard. I went wondering round with my old ones looking for similar size and shape.

I got a pair from VW heritage, about 4 years ago took about 8 weeks. I seem to remember they were about £70 the pair

Hi

This is an old post i know, what did you end up doing jason ?

You do not write what model scirocco you need them for

I'm looking for mk1 ones and i found these so far:
http://shop.volkswagen-classic-parts.de ... 7473a.html
http://www.mk1autohaus.com/Outer-Door-S ... _7357.html
http://www.classic-vw.co.uk/mk1-scirocc ... 7950-p.asp

I'm also looking for an alternative scraper from another car model that i can maybe find at the scrapy
