Final MPG calculation.
Carlisle to Lands End to Truro, 49.4mpg.
Total mileage Liverpool to John O'Groats to Lands End to Truro, 1,425.
Fuel used 129.23 litres, divided by 4.54 = 28.46 gallons.
I know this looks very 'Top Gear' but that works out at 50.07mpg!
:)

No pasty for me! Ended up driving back home to Liverpool. Just arrived now. Nightmare journey. M5 shut around Bristol then again near Worcester. Don't think I'll forget today in a hurry - 1,250 miles covered in my Scirocco :)go-for-it1 wrote:Well done, now get a pastie and a pint of Cornish Tribute and sleep happy in the knowledge of all the heads that watched you going down there thinking, Cool car!!

Sorry I am seven months late uploading the photos!
Sorry again for the crappy quality. They were only taken on my phone!
Ok, so this is what we were trying to achieve...

And this is what I was going to try and achieve it in!

This is the evening before the challenge. I think it was taken about 8:30pm as I arrived at John O Groats.

Now, the big day! Took this one as I was about to leave. Note the time, 4:51am and also the mileage on the car, 120,407 miles.

Ok, now imagine an Asda petrol station. Specifically the one in Casrlise, just off junction 44 of the M6. This is where the (only) fuel stop occurred. Lost the photographic evidence though, sorry!
Moving on, half a mile remaining!

We've arrived!!

At this point, I decided there was no point in hanging around and it was time to head back home. From memory I arrived home 3 hours later that my ETA of midnight as the M5 was shut at Avonmouth, Gloucester and Worcester. Nightmare. MFA clocked 1,250 miles in 19hrs 30mins of driving. I think the average after all the M5 nonsense was 63mph. I'm pretty sure it was 69mph at Lands End though. Mileage now 121,655 miles!

That is indeed one gorgeous looking Rocco.
Nice trip too - I love north Scotland and the Highlands, must take my Rocco up there soon.
I still have an ambition one day to do the Club Triumph Round Britain run, maybe 2016 as I think I'm too late for this year's event.
Thanks for posting the photos.
Cheers
