Hey everyone
I am picking up my MK2 on Saturday. However the Rev counter doesn't work and sometimes the oil light comes on with a buzzing sound but will go off. I have a spare in the boot but not sure if that is the same as the one in at the moment. I have been told its a connection thing at the back. Any ideas how much it will cost to swap them over?
Thanks

Re: MK2 Dashboard problems
I presume you are called Luke? The oil light coming on and the buzzer sounding means oil pressure. It could be just the switch or the wiring to the switch as it can get brittle with age, but it could also mean something more sinister!
Changing the clocks are not especially hard. You haven't stated which type of MK2 you have because the clocks are different between injection and carbed as well as early and later cars?
Where are you based?

Luke, these cars are fairly straightforward to work on, pretty old school. I recommend you get yourself a Haynes manual.
If you are wanting somewhere to do the work for you then I can recommend a VW specialists in Chelmsford (Essex), but you should take a look local for you or even ask for assistance on here, there are members all over the country.
