86 mk2 gtxdriveshaft mm?

Post by chrisme85 »

hi guys,

just bought a KR to put in my gtx i am keeping the gtx short ratio box and mating it to the KR engine,

my question is, are my driveshafts 100mm? as most people say its worth going to 100mm shafts....

And

do i use the clutch and pressure plate to match the gearbox and the flywheel that matches the engine?

if anyone has a conversion manifold pm me also!
thanks for the help guys!!

I would think on an 86, the driveshafts will be 90mm, but measure them to be sure.

Thanks for the replies!
that links great thanks,
is it really worth the upgrade? are my 90mm ones likely to break?

There was info somewhere about the measurement of the 2 sizes of flanges if you got a bit of string and wrapped it round then measure the string. It's an easy way to check which flanges you have.
I'll try and find it for you

The circumference should be around 314mm for the 100mm diameter flanges, and 280mm for the 90mm diameter (ish - didn't use a calculator)
