mk2 servo upgrade.. did I get the wrong one?

Post by treefingers »

I bought a mk2 golf servo and master cylinder from eBay to upgrade my mk2 rocco one. funnily enough I've only just sized the two up and the golf servo is smaller than the original? am I right in thinking it should be bigger? I'm not sure if I've bought the wrong servo and if so the wrong mc also. thanks

Mk2 Golf 16v one should be larger than a standard rocco one, did you get a Golf 16v M/C as well?

worth checking this?

I did this to the Scala - it's the Golf Mk2 16V servo you're needing, plus the bottle and a master cylinder. Did you get 'any old' Mk2 Golf servo?

no part number on it. i think i've bought a basic mk2 golf servo which is a shame, paid about £60 for it too. was sure it was advertised as mk2 gti :( master cylinder has a 20 stamped in it also so I can't use that either. aargh!

Just checked mine, not easy to measure with the m/c and lines but seems to be aprox 10 inches. VW part number of 191 612 105D on it. I've got an ATE number on it as well if that's any good?

Early golf 8v was 7", Golf 16v and late 8v was 9"
Early Scirocco was 7", late Scirocco was 8"

The reason I asked measurements is because it looked like you already have a 9" servo in the first pic.
