bored to 2l
ported and polished head
fast road cam

Re: 2l 8v how much?
You should just buy a 2ltr its defo the cheapest way to do it.
If you need 1, give me a shout. I've got a complete in a mk3 golf i'm slowly taking apart.
With a fast road cam, a chip, and decent intake/exhaust you'd be looking to get around 135-140bhp.
Torque wise i think they are alright, changing the cam would defo give the engine a bit more poke higher up the rev range.

Decent head work can cost sort of £40 to £100 for a simple job. Fast road cams are around £220 a set as well. I'd of though 155 - 165bhp would be achieveable with decent breathing.

Re: 2l 8v how much?
to have it bored out will be verry expensive when i enquired the larger pistons required where £450 on there own
the change to 2.0 mk3 golf bottom end will give you a big increase in torque and will cost about £200 look for codes agg and 2e they are the most common but there are others
port and polished head about £300 when i was getting quotes but i didn't do it in the end
i have just found a cam and vernier pulley for £100 2nd hand this is verry cheap expect a cam about £100 and pulley £50

buy an mot failed passat with a 2E engine (£50 or less)
swap the rocco flywheel onto the passat engine and insert it. wire in the digipants to the fusebox
