MK2 Gti 1.8 8v DX Coolant Hoses

Post by yorksrocco »

Hi!

Could anyone recommend a place that could supply coolant hoses for a MK2 Scirocco GTI 8v 1.8, engine code DX?

I've tried VW Heritage and they don't have all of the hoses I need. Any help would be appreciated! I've seen these on ebay but not too sure if they're the right ones.

Have you tried GSF and Eurocarparts?

I've had a look at samco scilicone hoses, not cheap though!

Yeah suprisingly GSF didn't stock the right ones, which I thought was odd and Europarts didn't seem overly sure!

Crazy quid does a good replacement kit. Silicone but not the crazy price of the samco. Not used them but heard good reviews.
For the record I use the samcos

If you are just after standard why don't you speak with your local VW dealer, they may surprise you and still be able to supply, worth a phone call!

My local VW dealer surprised me, £199 for an ignition module, typically available for £40 from GSF and ECP, and for less if you search hard...

The last hose I bought from VW was £8, this was for the radiator top hose!

Sadly I cant find it I must have deleted it.

I bought most of them from this site though.

http://vwsonline.co.uk/car_parts_bristol/

I found the best way to do it is using VAGCAT or ETKA to identify all the hoses you need and the part numbers for them all then put the part numbers into the search engine on that site.

The only ones I wasnt able to get as rubber hoses were the heater matrix ones which I just used hose off the reel as the shape is pretty simple and also the small J shaped hose for the metal pipe on the right hand side of the block. For that one I was lucky that someone I knew had one in silicone left overfrom an engine conversion.

Well thank you all for your help!

I've managed to source a couple of replacements and just left a couple of the old ones on for the time being!

That ebay link is the one I was looking at orginally, but I contacted the seller and he replied that the hoses would be unsuitable for my car, although I suspect this may not be the case.

I've access to vagcat for future reference for parts so we'll see how I get on!

Thanks again
