White speedo/clock vinyl on eBay
Found the image on ebay and asked the seller to relist the item for me to buy one.
I thought I'd post it here in case anyone else is interested.

Hi,
You've just reminded me. I was after some of these a while ago. Anybody know if they are available for the 160mph clocks, I could only find 120 or 140 when I was looking.
Ben.

I told him I wanted
140MPH & 7k rpm which I couldn't see on the images and he's done it.

Always like those dial faces, but then I'm stuck in a long dead decade.
Fitted these this week, for a tenner they're a bargain and fairly easily available

Amazing how such a subtle change can make them look a lot less dated

Found a spare clock so I'm going to modify it and swap it with my normal clock.Mr Funk wrote:That's them!

Got it all stripped down, but I can't figure out how to take the needle out so I can put the vinyl on the face. Any ideas?

Re: White speedo/clock vinyl on eBay
i thought the vinyl normally had a slit in it to slide over the needle. chances of getting the needle back on right are slim

Re: White speedo/clock vinyl on eBay
To get the needle off place a thin bit of cardboard under the needle and use a fork to prise it off but be very careful as they do break, the hardest thing is then putting it back on in the right place as it spindle they push on spins very easy. If it anything like the MK1 speedo there is a mark on there showing where the needle should be when its pushed over the stop, you have to be careful bending it over the stop not to snap the end off.
Pictures - This is the mark on a Mk1 were to point the needle, had to pull the needle over the stop (I had to take mine off to fix the mileometer)

How I tested it was reading right with a sat nav before putting it back in to the rest of the dash, I did not push the needle on hard till sure it was right so easy to remove.

If you can change the speedo colour without taking the needle off I would try that first.

Re: White speedo/clock vinyl on eBay
Managed to squeeze it over the needle by making a tiny cut on the centre hole.
It's not perfect, but it'll do. Only issue now is that this clock is 30k lower than my car.
Is there a fast way to add miles onto it?
