Indicator Problems

Post by Mk2GT »

Right slight problem with my indicators witch has bin moving around. first when indicating i was hit with a Buzzer from the relay. then with a bit of tinkering it then started to activate my wipers when i turned the left signal on :S i disconnected all the fusebox and replaced everything after drying it all out cause one or two of the relays had a bitt of rust on them :S i then tryed the hazard lights witch didnt work i found the problem was bad connections on both indicators in the bay aswell as bad bulbs so thats sorted.

buuuuuuuuut now the new probem is ............. when the ignition is on the light on the dials for the indicator stays on but only very dimmly............ when i indicate it just lights up a solid light and does not repeat so what does a solid light mean ? and why is it on very dimmly when the ignirion is on ? it gets slightly brighter with the engine on so its being affected by charge from the alternator :S Any help on this as its got me at my witts end.

It sounds like the relay has gone, have you changed it?

Have a look above the fusebox, just to make sure it isn't leaking eithe from the windscreen seal or rust in the plenum

Melted fuses often caused by a poor connection due to corrosion. This is a sign of water ingress. Make sure there's no more water gonna get onto the fusebox, or the problem will just come back
