Re: Introduce yourself
Hi guys,
I'm Miles, and I recently bought a GTII, one owner from new and full service history!
Have sorted out all the electrics on the bank holiday weekend, and am going to sort out a couple of small rust spots and then some other routine stuff... then thinking about doing the usual Weber carb and 256mm brake disc upgrades at some point in the future.
Anyway here are a couple of pics:

If it's a metal roof, check the plastic drain tubes are still attached front and rear, and that they're not blocked.TheMoleKing wrote:Thanks!
It'll be even better when I fix the sunroof leak :)

Re: Introduce yourself
That was my first thought, however it's an after market job that I assume the dealer had installed in '89. I'm going to clean and silicone spray it and see if it improves!
Thanks though :D

Re: Introduce yourself
If it's a manually-operated glass pop-top, then cleaning the seals properly can make a big difference. The one on my mk1 storm leaked around the bolt-holes in the glass at the front - Vaseline was a good temporary fix, but obviously new washers would be the solution.

Re: Introduce yourself
Hi guys, hopefully back in the Scirocco owners club after a few years away. Should be getting this in a few days. Needs a small amount of paint repair on one door and is a Pierburg carb, so wish me luck!!!

Re: Introduce yourself
Hi everyone. My name is Bruce. As yet no Rocco but looking at one on the 30th. It's been a while since I've been close to a Rocco as my dad had a gold mk1 GL 1980.
Hope to be fully fledged Rocco owner soon and will get some pics up
