black stripes on rear lights...
so...my lights are annoying me as one has visible black stripes over part of it and the other has them but they are very faded..
how would one go about re applying this blackness?
anyone got any top tips? masking will take hours and fiddly....

decided to go down the 3mm masking tape from ebay.. perfect width for every stripe!!

do people use black paint or tinting spray??

i think as standard they were just black paint. tinting spray would work fine too (and is designed for plastic) provided you put enough of it on there for it to go black. also seen a few painted body colour, which can look ok, depending on the colour of the car

Hmm mines silver so I think would look crao but hard to tell unless I see a one with it done... 3 49 for tingmting spray so shall see... if not have some plastikote black...

I bought black 3mm trim tape from Halfords, and re-striped with that. took a couple of hours to do the lot, but still less than masking and painting i'd say.
no peeling or fading after being stood outside all year round for 2.5 years so far, and the tape is cheap too! takes a lot though, i seem to remember working out that there's around 7 meters tape that needs putting on. and that could have been per cluster!

bit late now but i used humbrol enamel matt black paint for acrylic plastic models and a cotton bud to paint on with. took a couple of hours to do both but it came out great and no need to remove from the car.
I dont mind project cars but I HATE SANDING!!!
