My latest project...............VAG ish?
Morning all
Having recently sold my mint GTII to GT2 Pete, I have found myself Sciroccoless for the first time in a long long time.
As I stated in my advert at the time, I had a few itches to scratch with regards to 'cars to own before one meets ones maker'.
Anyway, on that list was something Eastern Bloc (amongst other things), don't ask me why, I just did. After a bit of searching and viewing (Monza's, Lotus, Lancia's, Audi's) I have acquired this little gem:
It's a 1974 Skoda S110 LS. 1100cc rear engined, water cooled. Full independent suspension with disc brakes up front.
It looks far worse than it actually is believe it or not with only minimal corrosion to the front floor panel. Sills seem very strong indeed. Anyway, will be making progress with this over the coming months. May still get another Scirocco to tootle about in if the right one in my area raises it head but not until the new year.
So, two last questions...............
What do you think of it?
Is it VAG eligible as technically Skoda are now VAG and this could technically be classed along the lines of an early Audi/DKW/NSU? (see poll above)

Nice, not my cup of tea but looks different. As for being a VAG it was built when Skoda was on there own so no influence from VW hence my vote.

Voted "no no no" but only 'cos it's a 'proper' Skoda, and that's good enough.
A fine purchase.

Gloriously not VAG. It's a proper Skoda and not a slightly remodelled VW. That's not a reason not to take it to a VW show if you want to, however. I like a bit of Eastern Bloc, but more a Tatra man myself.

Who cares if it's VAG or not, what a cracking project.
Although you realise you're compelled to drive it wearing a big overcoat and fur hat and chase spies.

That look like a very interesting project Matt. When I see faded paint like that, I just wanna break out the G3 and get rubbing.

Love it! Just bought my first Skoda last week too. Just about pre-VW, but nowhere near as old as yours.
