Part number for early Mk1 accelerator bush

Post by Phil »

Wondered if anyone can help me find the part number for the bush that holds the accelerator cable to the pedal, my MK1 has a smaller pedal hole and a plastic type bush. I can find lots of the later large bush but struggling with the earlier type, don't really want to change the pedal for a later one.

Thanks in advance

if you can't see all the data on this page just register onto the site and see if you can spot the correct cable on here?

You could always make one, the one brought from VW was a sort of foam/rubber and is not lasting very well, I might try this when mine gives up.

Thanks for the link, making one is a definate option as I can't seem to track down the smaller bush.

Does your '78 have the larger bush shown in the pics on your link? I have replaced these bushes on both my MK2 Rocco and Mk1 golf cabriolet and both had the large foam bush shown but my 78 Rocco has a lot lot smaller hole than this

Mine had the same size bush as my golf so must be the larger size. It is easy to remove the peddle as I took mine out to re spray it as the paint had worn off, so might be easier to get a different pedal. I'll try a get a picture of mine for you tomorrow.

Thanks, handy to know the pedal is easy to change. Think I might try the homemade rubber on mine as it looks a lot more durable than what VW produce.
