Just picked up a new Rocco :D

Post by Chris6969 »

I went to essex yesterday, no not to meet the Towie muppets, but to pick up this gorgeous girl.

Had a lovely 200 mile drive in the beautiful sun with a beautiful car.

First thing first was to but a stronger temporary fix on the bulkhead, so got down my mates and got stuck in. Firstly we had to straighten it all up as it was bent backwards.

Then welded some spots.

We then had to make a hole big enough on the metal plate for the speedo cable. It feels better now than before, but still have go a few thing to do before we weld the plate right on, but at the moment its not going anywhere.

She drives like a beauty and handles like a go kart. I have thank RoccoYaz for all his hard work over the last 12 years and hopefully she will see me through another 15 years.

Hi Chris, I love the pictures mate, especially the 1st one! Glad you're on the way to finishing off what I couldn't and I look forward to see more updates!

When you was following me to the petrol station yesterday, the car looked awesome in my rear view mirror! I have never seen it being driven by someone else before in all the time I have owned it, and I then realised that the car had the stance/look that I wanted to achieve all along.

I hope you enjoy it mate!
Thanks again
Yaz

Oh really, do you think it was anything to do with that fox lying in the road? I think it was a fox...

Bit of advice.....
I would nut and bolt the repair plate over the baulk head so it has some movement. Quite a few ppl on this forum have welded their baulk heads only to find it split again ( me included) the following year.
Plus if you weld a plate slightly off you will have a heavy clutch pedal.
If you nut and bolt it you can play with it intill its just right then tighten it up
