I hope you bought him a rather stout stick. Car like that he'll be beating the ladies off with a sheety stick.

im new to the vw scene, having only just left the mini crowd, though swapping my 1275 mayfair for this beauty was probably the best thing ive ever done! its a brilliant car, goes nicely, looks the buisness, a real piece of 80's culture and styling. shes a show car really, hence the spotless bodywork and the lowered springs. im planning on getting to every vw show i can this year! i use the car every day and it really is great fun to drive. im in a band as well and it easily takes my bass, guitars, amps and most of a drumkit in that huge boot! a genuine solid car thats been really well looked after, and there isnt a spot of rust on her.

the only problems ive had are a hairline crack on the radiator by the overflow pipe, a tired starter motor and the pierburg carb either works nicely or revs like mad, depending on how it feels XD either way im very pleased and i hope you might all like the look of her too!

Hey dude, welcome along. Looks a good tidy base.

That car looks familiar, certainly the numberplate. Where are you based dude?

My advice...

- ditch the rad and cowling and fit the larger injection stuff. Keeps the engine cooler too.
- starters are dead easy to fit and pretty cheap too.
- Buy a Weber replacement carb. Best thing you will ever do.

cheers! im pretty pleased with the car, its becoming a perfect everyday driver and i really want to get along to some shows when its sunny! :D

im from the town of new milton, i brought the car over in poole and i think its been over there most of its life. im only the 4th owner so as far as i know its still a local car.

ive just fitted a replacement of the original, and ive not had any issues, but if i need to change it later then i will!
yeah ive grabbed a new starter, and although its in a wierd place when up on the ramps it looks easy to change
and im looking for a replacement weber! at the moment the old pierburg works but i will change it sooner rather than later! only problem being that its an automatic. i can find the manual carbs easy but not the automatic versions :/ any clues?

Hey up. Thanks man, the guy i bought it off had it from 2011 he lives in Leicester. It were a nice hour and a bit drive back to Sheffield when i picked it up. Only thing wrong with her is the front bumper is abit skew-if. I'm new to 'rocco's, so I'll check the forum for how to solve this. I've got a mk1 golf but its up for sale now i have the Scala.
