argh speedhumps!

Post by james butler »

cant believe it! i went to solihull this afternoon and parked in the m & s car park touchwood, on the way out i forgot there is some concrete speedhumps inside that arnt painted up.
BANG, as i went over it my head hit the roof of the car, i now have pain in me neck and to top it off the wheel bearings now gone in the passenger hub along with the fact the car now pulls heavilly to the left!
not happy!
funny thing was though i was there last week and went over the same hump in my mini and remember saying to myself "blimey must be carefull going over these especially in the rocko" :dash:
funny how you remember these things momentarilly after you do it again
must be getting old.
went down to euro car parts and ordered 2 new wishbones = £10 each
the ball joints = £6 each
and wheel bearings £17 each
might as well do both sides at the same time to freshen up the front end.
could do with fabing up a strut brace too while the wishbones are coming off.
oh well allways look on the bright side

Do you get some special discount - just looked and the prices online are much higher than that!

you really need to phone them or go to the store for good deals. the prices online seem to be three times as much for some reason?
did two bushes for a mate of mine on a mk4 polo and both bushes came to £16 yet online they quote almost that much each.

You should be able to get some compensation for the damage from whoever put the speed bumps in, I reckon. Were they on a public road?
