whats the best fairly cheap suspension option????

in your opinions what are the best suspension options. decent but cheap coilovers? decent strut and lowering spring set up???

It depends to some extent on what you want from the suspension.

Good quality dampers/springs will be better (ride/handling/safety/longevity) than cheap coilovers. But if you want to scrape your sump on every speed-bump (or desperately need variable ride height - and will actually use it), you'll need coilovers.

i was referring to quality really

the last thing i want to do is crack my sump on a raised drain!!!!!

just a 30mm drop really and something a little bit stiffer nothing major its not a fast car so not really bothered too much

Just go for some good quality springs and dampers then. If you can run to them, Bilstein shocks with Eibach springs would probably be the best combo, otherwise Koni, Weitec, Spax and Avo are all worth a look. I wouldn't bother with the budget brands if you care about more than the ride height of your car.

GSF did alowering spring set that i ran on my GT2, 40mm lower, seem to remember it was about £50 - the ride honestly wasn't that much different to the standard springs that were on there before (though after 18 years of wear, they probably wern't at their best!)
As the girlfriend said, the ride wasn't great before, but it didn't get any worse afterwards!

thats exactly what i was eyeing up for the same reason as yourself. let me know how they feel

I went for 40mm lower front & back. All fitted ok, though one of the camber bolts sheared
Looks OK. Feels nice & firm.
Can't try it on road yet as no MOT & still have front wishbones to change (terminally coroded). Been waiting for warmer weather.
Don't know how long they'll last - that seems to be the problem with the cheap stuff.
But I've only bought the rocco as a hobby & will probably do less than 2k a year, so hoping it won't be a problem for me.
