Carb Electrics

Post by dozzum »

Ive been trying to sort out the running problems with my car.
It will start and rev but wont idle.
I took it to a local VW tuning specialist and he said to check the electrics.
He said the two plugs shoudl have 12V with the ignition on. I am only getting 12V from the one further to the front.
In the process of checking the cables i have found a loose cable under that carb. It is a single black cable and after looking at my brothers MK1 cabriolet with the same pierburg it is plugs sumwhere under the carb.
Does anyone know what the two plugs on the side and back do and what the loose wire that is supposed to run under the carb is for and would any of this cause these problems?
