ride height

i love the height my car is but its not practical
i lowered the car 40mm on jom suspension kit, problem is im now sorrounded by speedhumps.
i also like the stiffened suspension as it rides better and stops a lot of the body roll.
to raise the suspension but keep it stiff do you think its possible if i stick the old springs on the new shocks?
to keep if a bit stiffer but retain stock height?
or will this totally ruin the ride quality?

You would probably want different shocks. Bilstein do various grades of stiffened dampers from B4 to B12. The lower numbers are less stiff and some are suitable for standard springs (B4 & B6, I think), the higher numbers they recommend lowered Eibach springs. The ride will probably be terrible on most uprated dampers on standard springs (it was on the car I had like that).

I'm running standard springs with Koni top adjustable dampers at the moment and find it a good balance of ride and handling, although I've got stiffer anti roll bars fitted as well. I used to have the same problems with speed bumps every day so did what your thinking of doing, as it works well on the lumpy B road tarmac of my daily commute the setup has stayed.

hmm thought it may be no use. might just swap the whole lot with my project cars stock supension instead of messing around too much.
the parts may be old but at least its a free option til i have more cash and time.
