USRT Smartshift kit

Can anyone give me any feedback on the USRT Smartshift kit? It looks like a good bit of kit, especially in conjunction with their shortshift adapter.

I seriously looked into this as I love short shift. A mate has a track mk1 golf and says its great for the money and really clunky, just wha it should e. only odd thing was that he had to drill something but I can't remember what. If you do get one let me know what it's like as I may get one

At a total price of £218.70, I would say it is expensive.

I would go for the TSR or MissingLinkZ (USA) kit - which give you metal ball and socket joints in place of the VW plastic jobbies at around about £50.

Plus international shipping, plus import duties (obviously still cheaper than USRT). I think the full kit would end up costing around £100 once you'd paid the Post Office's ransom.

The USRT one looks cheaper on their own website, but once you add these things on it becomes more or less the same as the VW Heritage price. I'd also prefer to deal with a UK based seller if possible.

I can't find any info or links to the TSR one (I have found their website, but that didn't help).

I'm currently running the Tsr kit and it is good but can be really fiddly to set up (I'm missing first gear atm but then I haven't had time to set it up). I took the punt and fitted a weighted throw but it wasn't very nice so just running the Tsr. Miss the short shifty clunk I had on the green Rocco

The rather long throw of the gearlever is what lets it down the most for me, it compromises spirited driving.

The old one had an inch off the gear lever, the Tsr kit and one of so £17 short shift kits that I tinki got from volksapart. It was gorgeous but I've not been able to get anther short shift kit
