Welcome aboard Nigel. :hi:

Just been checking out your thread. The opening paragraphs sound like a movie in the making ... certainly a dramatic start!

Hi my name is Fred, and I have an addiction...

Post by fredybender »

Hello My name is Fred, I presently have 3 X Mk1's in the garage.
My first car was a 1978 Mk1 bought in 1981...
I have now returned to the Mk1's after a few decades of "other priorities" ...

These projects are now done, but they are never finished, its amlost the same thing with a house: To take a japanese saying, when there is nothing left to do on it, the "spirit" dies... first project (street) started in 2009, and then the track project followed the year after that...

Long threads, but its OK, theres a lot of pictures :yup:
I hope its ok to link these :bye:

Hi Guys and Girls

New to the site, but not new to Scirocco's, Just bought my 5th (ebay, 11.30pm last Friday, apres pub!!)

Its a 91 GT11, light black metallic, dead the same as my 1st Scirocco, but that was also a J plate which was 4 years old!!

It has 171k on the clock, so nearly run in, also has 11 months MOT and drove back to Leicester from Spalding on Saturday morning like a new one.

Couple on minor issues to sort, laquer peel on the drivers door and a rusty bit on the passenger door, few stone chips on leading edge of the bonnet, otherwise seems great condition.

My Scirocco list is as follows

1, J57 KJU GT11 Black, owned 1995-1998 whereabouts unknown
2, G210 AJB GT11 Gunmetal 2004-2008 whereabouts known.
3, F--- LRY Scala, bought as a scrapper to feed 2 + 4, scrapped
4, B134 UKH Havana Storm, 2006-2010 sold to a T25 enthusiast from Notts area
5, J114 KFV GT11, Black 2012 + on my drive!!

Would love to get in touch with the Storm buyer if anyone knows its whereabouts.

Current significant others are a 1995 Golf 1.8 Cabrio and my work vehicle, a Peugeot partner (urgh!)

Oh, my name is Mark, Married to Jo, Daughter Ella, 41, likes old VWs and riding/collecting BMX Bikes.

Cheers

Mark M
