weber problems

hi there boys and girls i know this question has been asked time and time again and i've looked through the search bar but i fitted my weber the other day and i think i have the vac pipes in the wrong place but the instructions weber give you are a little confusing :dunno: . so i was wondering if any of you had photos of where there ment to go on a 1.8 8v gtl 1985. thank you.

You should get rid of the green ball and any lines hanging off it, and start afresh..

Vacuum advance on the distributor should be connected to the manifold vacuum between inlet mani and brake servo.

The vacuum port on the back of the carb should connect to the left side of the air box as you look at it, and the other connection othe air box should go to the hot/cold mixer flap at the inlet end of the air box.

If you have an econometric in he dash it needs manifold vacuum which you can take from the manifold/servo booster hose.

Dead easy! But remember that webers seem to like a touch more advance than pier burgs...

thank you thats where i have all the vac pipes. ive got it booked in on friday for the timing to be done again as when i turn it off it try's to start again and makes a massive pop sound i got told that there was to much pressure due to the timing being wrong.

running on sounds like you might have it too far advanced, try turning the dizzy clockwise slightly then give it another try..


do I really want a carb'd valver? answers on a postcard...
