Re: Gear linkage bushes replacement - DIY or not?

anything to avoid jacking up a car is a good thing in my books

I found it was easy putting the linkage together except for aligning the spline to get the full range.

I discovered that if you put it into reverse or 5th, then set up the spline, all other selections find themselves. easy.

Re: Gold '79er

Soooooo a replacement metering head has seen the engine run and idle! I've found a good local mechanic who normally works on aircooled stuff and restores some rather rusty lookin campers to....well...rusty looking campers!

Re: 3D printing and Scirocco parts?

Just from what I've looked up it would seem that 3D printing at the moment is still mostly only good for prototyping. Lots of stuff comes into play like how the plastic used reacts to UV light and water, heat and involves a lot of trial and error.

Re: Gold '79er

Wow its been a while since Ive been on here! The guys who were to get the rocco MOT'd and running basically did nothing for a few months, so I took the car back after a few frank discussions.

The controls and lighting are all okay - the engine turns over, but I think the timing is so out its not ...
