Hi guys, I've got my 2l block sitting clean ready to put back together, and was wondering what engine mounts to use? My scirocco is a 1.6 1988 GT.

I was lead to believe that the existing mounts are fine and the engine just "drops in", is this the case?

I can't afford to be faffing about on my ...

Would it be possible to put a turbo on a 1.6 from a mk2 golf or similar?

Engine would need rebuilt of course, but would it need megasquirt/megajolt ?

I haven't been able to find much info on people fitting turbos, they just seem to do engine swaps

Fits well, bit of cutting and welding needed. Cheaper than a jetex tho.

Cheers, if i could get my hands on an old scrap one, it might be easier to decide. I'm not worried about the cutting/welding really, and have an old jetta system lying about if i need more pipe.

The mark2 golf gti backbox has a lovely chrome twin pipe, and they're £50 quid new.

I know they won't fit straight on to my '88 1.6 GT but would i be right in thinking that it could be made to fit? ... they're a similar shape arn't they? A bit of cutting and welding would do wonders? Or should i ...
