Hi guys, I've got my 2l block sitting clean ready to put back together, and was wondering what engine mounts to use? My scirocco is a 1.6 1988 GT.
I was lead to believe that the existing mounts are fine and the engine just "drops in", is this the case?
I can't afford to be faffing about on my boss' ramp, he wants the car in and out asap as it's a freebie...

Re: 2L 8v Engine Mounts
i put a 2E into mt 1.8 mk2 (carb'd scala) and as i remember it used all the rocco mounts, and it did drop straight in. exhaust was annoying as the engine is slightl taller, and the 4 branch i had bought wouldn't fit. toilet bowl manifold and downpipe fitted ok though - if slightly closed to the steering rack than i would have liked. always meant to wrap it, but never got round to it

Re: 2L 8v Engine Mounts
you'll need to check 1.6 and 1.8 mounts are the same, but i'd imagine the would be. manufacturers are very lazy
Re: 2L 8v Engine Mounts
Pretty sure they are the same for the 1.6, 1.8 and 2.0...
