Re: The Market 1980 Mk1 For Sale
Not logged on for a while but noticed this, I sold the Scirocco on for 18K to a classic car dealer who obviously punted it straight on using "the market" for a small profit after auction fees and shipping costs, stuck to my guns on the 18K I got and was happy with that, good write up on the car ...

Re: Brake servo relocation to drivers side
Hi Tom, I’ve had the scirocco on the road for nearly 2k miles and absolutely no issues, brakes are perfect, you know that feeling when you step on the brakes in a modern car and they work !, well that’s what it’s like
, not harsh in any way either

9A conversion in mine but with stand alone engine management now, supersprint manifold and exhaust, was originally on the kjet set up with a 1.6 metering head which allegedly gives more fuelling, was fairly rapid with that set up

Re: Brake servo relocation to drivers side
Hola,
Quick question as i'm in the middle of playing this game but with added abs. Did you have to dress back the suspension turret/inner wing next to the buldhead having removed the end of the chasis rail? i offered mine up my servo last night and its too far offset still.
No mate, didn't have ...

Re: Hydro to cable cutch
Classic-vw.co.uk sell a cable actuated clutch mechanism, give them a ring for cable advice, usually very helpful, or convert to hydraulic with the kit to weld on the steering column (retrofication.co.uk) I went that route, it works well and eliminates the cable pulling through the bulkhead issues ...

Re: Brake servo relocation to drivers side
Wow- well done, it's not very often you see someone doing something original and creative on these cars nowadays, let alone to such a high standard. Great idea. I expect you've thought about some serious exhaust heat shields already...
Thanks for the kind words, yeah heat shielding is now done ...

Re: Red Rocco resto mod
The Rocco has been on the road now for around 4 months, ran the engine in, changed out the oil and had it back to the tuners for a rolling road session, Dyno day came along and I was paranoid it was gonna go bang or something but all was good, 4 hr mapping session revving the nuts off it at points ...

Re: Red Rocco resto mod
Finished the fuel lines in braided ptfe line with 6an black fittings, not into the whole red and blue fittings look for a road car then took the car back to the engine tuners to get the final wiring for the ecu installed and get it fired up, this was around 4 or 5 days work, fired nicely, didn't ...

Re: Red Rocco resto mod
Just a few bits to finish off, Momo Prototipo heritage steering wheel chosen for it's closeness to the early mk1 Rocco wheels, filled in some cracks and dyed the dash black, a bit shiny to start with but it has toned down to a duller sheen now, cooling system was done now and installed a slightly ...
