Unstable Acceleration
Hi all, Due to my GT2's mot running out and being unable to pass due to its electrical problems. I've had to some what reassemble my GTI that I was midway through respraying in Autumn before it got too cold outdoors. Now this isn't the original topic, I'll get there lol. Many parts of the car were ...

14" Bottlecaps
Hi all, Recently I purchased a set of 14" bottle cap alloy wheels in near perfect condition. Very little curbing, just the odd scratch or two from being used for so long. They came with 4 legal tires but I wouldn't trust them on my car as they've cracked and perished somewhat in storage. My question ...

Lower strut brace fitting question
Hi all, I recently tried to install an OMP lower strut brace on to my scirocco which I know fits between the two bolts on each end of the front wishbones. I had the car jacked up and wheel removed to access the bolt but on either side I'm sure the bolts did not screw back into the correct thread and ...

Electrics won't turn on with ignition
Hi all, recently my gt2 has developed a problem where the engine turns and runs fine but the heater fan won't blow, electric Windows won't work nor the wipers or dipped beams. I used to just give the key a little wiggle while running which usually solved it but that has stopped working. Funny thing ...

Looks like I'll be leaving at 3am then lol! 4 hour drive from where I'm based to Manchester plus I finish work at 8 on the Friday night so there would be no point booking a hotel halfway for a few hours sleep! I'll check the thread Mark, cheers!

Not sure if I'm posting this in the correct place but DO NOT put this stuff in to your cooling system. I had a couple cracks in the plastic on the top of the radiator where crystallised coolant had formed (the car has never suffered from major loss of coolant) so I thought I'd give it a go and see ...

Scottish drive to nationals
Is anyone from Scotland heading down this year? And if so where abouts from, and when they'll be leaving? I am based in Perth so it's 50/50 to head edinburgh direction via M90 or straight to Glasgow on the A9 if anyone would be interested in a small convoy. Both options will take us straight onto ...

Re: Inner light fitting
Lights fitted and all secure. Thanks for the guide Joost! It was a bit fiddly trying to lock them in place without removing the lamp frame but there locked on and easily adjustable this way.

I'm in the process of removing some surface rust I've found behind the grill and on the edges of the crumple zone but once that's dealt with I'll attempt fitting them and let you know how it goes!

Re: Carb flange
I've got one ordered! Would spraying some brake and clutch cleaner in there be of any benefit or a big no no?

Re: Carb flange
I always wondered what that little hole was! It hadn't caused any problems so I just assumed that was the way it was meant to be. Thanks!
