Mk2 horn not working but relay clicking
When I press the button from my steering wheel I can hear the relay clicking but nothing from the horn - Can anyone tell me where I can find the horn and which troubleshooting steps I should take first?
Cheers

Re: Mk2 seat belts ?
Have you tried VW Classic Parts? I think they do some of the seat belts. Ah - Didn't even know about this site, v expensive but looks like they have loads of bits that would be useful if you have no other way of getting hold of something! Whats wrong with your seat belts? Not retracing? Frayed/cut ...

Mk2 seat belts ?
Hi everyone - I'm after a full front seat belt assembly for both driver and passenger.
I've looked around but can't find any to buy apart from one set on ebay that looks a bit worse for wear - Not sure if anyone knows if you can use seatbelts from any other VW models around the same era?
Jake

Re: Do I have a bypass valve?
Bit of a late reply on this one, been working away from home but finally managed to get round to taking some pics yesterday. Pic of the coolant pipes entering the bulkhead is below - No bypass valve in sight. It looks like the gap where it should be has been bridged by a 100mm pipe. Any ideas on why ...

Re: Do I have a bypass valve?
Thanks for the replies. I've had the dash out to do some other work a week or so ago and then found there was no heater control cable, so the slider control would have never worked anyway. I then set about looking for the control valve and I'm sure that's missing too as I can't see it anywhere - I ...

Do I have a bypass valve?
Hi everyone, I've recently bought a Mk2 with a 1.8t conversion. The heater only blows hot so I set about checking the bypass valve, however it looks like I don't have one! Can anyone help me out and post a picture of where the bypass control valve should be so I know I'm looking in the right place ...

Re: Mk2 Parts
If the feed to the matrix had been bypassed, you would have no heating. If the heater control valve had been bypassed it would always be hot, you would then have no control over the in cabin temp apart from fan speed. Ben. Cheers Ben - I'm hoping it's the cable from the control to the valve that ...

Re: Mk2 Parts
The heater issue is likely to be the valve in the engine bay. If you look at the bulkhead you will find the two hoses that supply the heater matrix with coolant. On one of them there is a valve that limits the amount of coolant that can enter the matrix. If this is worn it will let coolant past ...

Re: Mk2 Parts
central locking was fitted as standard on some cars but its a bit of a pain to retro fit to cars that didn't have it. its far cheaper to buy an electronic 2 solenoid kit as its easier to fit and wire in to your alarm system.( i paid £240 for someone to supply and fit central locking and toad ai606 ...

Re: Mk2 Parts
Power steering was not an option on the Mk2 so no standard parts available, there was a couple of places selling a kit for Mk1 golfs that may fit as they share the same floor pan etc. I find I can drive my cars with just a finger and thumb when moving and the steering is light, don't even try and ...
