Re: Wet Wet wet mk2
Found problem, thanks to below topic
- Leak into passenger side rear footwell. Any ideas? -
Rain was puddling in the rain tray especially perhaps when parked on my steep driveway. Water was then getting in through heater blower housing in to footwell, always passenger side for some reason.

Re: rad fan switch
Sorted it was temp sender, the top link above type but black..
wish I had tried that first, I bought a new black one only in December, but now wonder if it was faulty all along.(did move quite quickly)
So I now have two spare good 2 pin rad switches, I've fitted the three pin, though looking at the ...

Re: rad fan switch
Mine is a GT2 now Ive checked...
so will try 3 pin, and maybe new temp sender as well.
My gauge quickly reads 2/3, at that point thermostat opens. Normally reads about 2/3 to 3/4s..
Two of you from Somerset which is were I got the car....It had the wrong temp gauge in to begin with hardly read at ...

rad fan switch
I,ve got a 1990 GT, replaced rad fan switch but doesn't cut in till very hot.(assuming temp gauge is right)
The old switch had two pins, is this correct?
The connecter that fits on it, would fit a 3 pin..
If the switch is correct, (bought new 2 pin) then maybe my temp sender is reading hotter than ...

Re: oil buzzer
Finally got there, replaced the speedo/clock which came with "new" cluster, and that seemed to stop it, so then put the old speedo back in but with the L shaped circuit board from the "new" clock. And its been fine since, and does still buz if I disconnect the wire from the pressure sender to test ...

Re: oil buzzer

I will tidy this thread up later, ive read lots and tried lots, its common problem with a few possible reasons.

Re: oil buzzer
buzzing all time now, ive earthed the wire to pressure switch to the block, that seemed to have stopped the buzzer as circuit complete, the senders close/complete circuit at pressure I read somewhere.
But its started buzzing again at >2k revs. I will get pressure tested but how can I bypass this ...

Re: oil buzzer
many thanks for that. I also found in my Mrs old Golf/Jetta Haynes book, not my Scirocco Haynes book, that yes the buzzer and oil lamp will sound above 2000rpm from the high pressure circuit if the pressure goes below 1.8. shame Haynes couldn't be bothered putting that in the scirocco book. Would ...
