Re: It's got to go.

Unfortunately, another person has let me down. The shell will be going this week, but I will make the bits available. Just about everything but the shell as I desperately need the space. I'll list it in the breaking section unless that's against the rules.

Re: It's got to go.

Well, I might have found someone to take it on. Via a different marques forum, but if it happens I'll be glad not to break it. I f he decides it's a goer I'll point him here anyway.

This is back in 1998 when I bought it. It doesn't look like this now!

Re: It's got to go.

OK. Sounds an idea.

It's going to take me a bit of time to get photos (unless I can get the guy who was thinking of buying to send me the ones he took) as I'm busy this weekend.

However, to give you an idea, its a Mk2 GT (1.6 carb). C reg. Its a rolling shell at present as I stripped it to do the ...

It's got to go.

OK, so I have decided I'm not ever going to finish my Mk2, as I've too many other things that have also been in the pipeline or too many years. I thought I had a friend lined up to buy but it's fallen though.

I think the fact that it's basically a jigsaw puzzle (rolling shell and boxes of parts ...

Re: Stainless Filler Neck on e bay

Wow. If the guy who is interested in my car doesn't buy it, that tells me I should break it as the one I have is a nice one hardly used.

Re: Manual but coming up as an auto.

Mines a C reg. Funny thing is, I bought it from Birmingham while I lived in Nuneaton. 12 months after buying it, moved to Stafford, where it seems it was first registered! Dealer is long gone, apparently.

Re: Manual but coming up as an auto.

My logbook says it's an auto, though it clearly isn't. I will get it changed when I put the car back together. Looks like it was a very common error.

Re: Project Poppy - 1987 MkII GT

A really sad ending, sorry to say. My car is currently at a similar stage to Poppy, when you lost the engine. I went through many of the hassles getting parts out just as you did. Luckily I still have all the parts, even if it is ages ago I started the work.

I need to find someone in my area to do ...

Re: Introduce yourself

Just joined up, though I've popped in informally to have a look before.

I have a C reg GT 1.6 that I bought to rescue back in 1999. Started work on it, but a job, then house move put it on pause. Fifteen years later and I still haven't properly progressed as I found some rust in the rear wheel ...
