Hi All,
Im going to do a round headlight conversion on my MK2 and am thinking i will use the MK1 setup and fabricate what i need to make it fit, can anyone measure the grill height and length for me plus the diameter of the front lights? :)
Thanks

Seat fitment
What seats are a bolt in fitment to the Mk2? I have poor condition standard seats and am thinking some nice aftermarket ones may be cheaper than a refurb!
Thanks

Re: Aubrey - Mk2 1990 Scirocco
Nothing major, replaced the washer lines as they were perished, not found the leak yet! CV boots have been replaced but plan to overhaul the suspension and clean up the driveshafts at some point, want to paint it green as the paint is awful and patchy, maybe over the coming weeks! Also have a gear ...

Compatable Mk1 Golf Parts
Hi All,
Are the lower arms/top mounts the same as MK1 golf ones? seem to have issues getting them from GSF (don't like euros quality) and they don't stock Mk2 Scirocco parts but do have them for a MK1 golf!
Thanks

Re: Aubrey - Mk2 1990 Scirocco
So i bought a house in January 2016, since then the Scirocco has sat under cover waiting for a day to come out and play, and today was that day, few little jobs on it over last weekend and booked in for the MOT today, passed with just an advisory of interior mirror insecure (it fell off on the way ...

Re: Intermittent 'pinking'
The car had about 1/8th of a tank of old fuel, I recently put in 30 litres of optimum to try and clear it out a little so would say it's not the fuel, my first port of call will be the oil and see how she sounds :)

Re: Potential alternator issue
Battery seems to sit around 13.3v it was like this with the old battery and replaced with a brand new one with higher CCV and it still sits at 13.3v, never check an alternator myself so not sure of the procedure...

Re: Intermittent 'pinking'
Yeah it does it both idle and when being revved, more noticeable when idling as there is less noise, when revving the cycles are much quicker, but yeah it still goes noisy/quiet/noisy/quiet....
I thought it could be the timing belt slipped a tooth but think it's way to slow for that...

Potential alternator issue
Hi all,
I think I may have an alternator issue, when the car is running it sits nicely around 800rpm, if I put the lights on you notice a dip, maybe 750rpm but it's still fine, as soon as you put the windscreen wipers or fans on, then the rpm drops and the car stutters/cuts out. It doesn't have a ...

Rear plate - German...
Hi all,
I'm getting a rear plate made up for show use, it will just say Scirocco on a standard front plate format but pressed into an aluminium plate.
My question is if anyone knows any German and the use of the special letters, I'm thinking I get
Sciröccö
But am unsure...
Any help would be ...

Re: Replacement carb flange
Reverse engineering something like this is extremely easy, from the rough sizes from memory you would be looking at around £3.50 a billet plus machine time and a markup, mass produced you could be sub £10 quite easily
