Where are you guys buying inserts?

Front shocks are mullered. I've got some FEBI top mounts, but the inserts I can get are either rather expensive gas items, or cheap oil filled that I suspect are for a smaller/lighter car.

My fronts got an advisory on "misting" oil. I don't think they've any left!, and I'm getting a clonk over ...

Re: DX TTS..

Cheers :)

VW want a fortune for it.

I've tested, mines actually OK, so I think my WUR is at fault.

Deep, deep joy.

DX TTS..

So am I right in thinking the TTS is the brown sensor/switch in the coolant flange at the front of the engine/into the tophose?

If so, I think mine is kapput :(, it'd explain my "cold" misfire and starting issues too.

Can you still get these?, or are they another "hard to find" part?

Looking at ...

Re: Dropping the tank, late MK2

Cheers folks.

Yeah it's been plus gassed for the last two nights, I'll give it another brush with the old wire paint remover :hehe: and another spray while I get a brew and wait for the tank to drain.

Ill do the filler neck and other gubbins to while it soaks.

Thanks again,

Dropping the tank, late MK2

So, I've got a fuel leak to fix :(

What's the procedure for removing the tank?

From what I can see.. it's remove exhaust, leave the shocks attached, removed handbrake cables from inside the car, remove beam mounting bolts and lower beam on a jack (car is supported at the rear chassis members on ...

Cheers Mr B.

I'll have to take a proper butchers tonight, I reckon the plastic barb has broken off it, as I don't remember seeing a connection there :(

DX, Yellow vac line off that thingy on the metering head..

I've got a mystery vac line that appears to go no-where.

In think its related to my rough running, cold misfire. It comes from a small canister sat on my metering head, which has a black and white wire going into it.

Can someone identify where this is meant to go?

Ta.

More brasso today, moved the car to the workshop, where I'll start the real work.

Spent this afternoon cleaning it a bit more.

Re: 1990 Scirocco Scala Injection.

that came up well. who needs G3?

I know right?

In all seriousness, I'd have attacked it with a rotary polisher, but I'm out of G3 at the moment so decided to give brasso and a towel a bash on the advice of some old chap down the road from my Dad who used to restore MK1 Granada's

I'm impressed ...

Re: 1990 Scirocco Scala Injection.

Made a start on sorting the paint out.

The rear quarters have been damaged with white spray paint, hence the patching appearance.

At the moment I'm going to cut back what I can, and look a blow over later.
