Re: Fuel pressure? Electrical?
Thanks Shane, will check that out. Got it driving now and fine for a little while then becomes really lumpy spluttering and when you ask anything of it it's splutters. If you flip the key off for a split second off she goes again for a little while. It's as if when you turn the key it resets ...

Fuel pressure? Electrical?
I'm now really beginning to lose the will! I've now had my mk2 monza for 3 years and still done less than 50 miles in it. It had an unknown fuel issue when purchased but I've now systematically gone through most fixes. It runs fine for a couple of minutes until and then cuts out you start it again ...

Re: Fuel pump noisy
Think I've solved the problem guys! Although I've replaced fuel pipes, new fuel pump, lift pum, aux air valve, cleaned tank out, new plunger and checked metering head i think the problem was a knackered fuel filler cap! Aaaggghhh! It was in the garage and after they had changed fuel pump and pipes ...

Drive shaft seal replacement.
I've recently discovered that the inner drive shaft seal us leaking closest to the gearbox. It looks pretty simple but someone said they weren't sure if there is a special tool required as there spring loaded inside when you remove shaft from gearbox. Is this true or is it a simple job costing me ...

Re: Fuel pump noisy
Hi Ian, had a new relay quite early on so that's ok. Took the acumulator off and cleaned it all up with the pump and swirl pot when first sorting out and looks ok, but it's what's inside I suppose. I've been trying the smaller things first but looks like I need to get a new pump first, or borrow one ...

Fuel pump noisy
I'm trying to solve my fuel issue on my gtx and now down to the fuel pump. How can I tell if my fuel pump is not working properly. It's priming prior to starting but is constantly buzzing when running. Is this normal? My Rocco fires up first time for about 30 seconds then chugs out, I then restart ...

Re: Fuel issue! Help!
I've managed to change the aux air valve and it seems to have fixed the problem. Just need to reset it all now as running a bit more regular.
Let's hope it's solved and can get it to some meets.

Aux air valve removal
I'm attempting to change the aux air valve on the back of the inlet manifold. It's proving to be a bugger to get to. Can this be done or is it a major engine out job for 2 bolts? Got top bolt out, nearly?

Fuel issue! Help!
I posted a while back re my gtx after being stood for 16 years spluttering out after about 5 mins. After garaging it for the winter I've now managed to clean out the gunked up tank, sort filler neck, that didn't seem bad, put in a new lift pump, new fuel filter, injector seals and jiggled the mix as ...

Re: Stops running after 5 mins
Thanks folksIi think the tanks ok, and i thought the filler was as it seemed solid, however its probably caked up inside. Looks like a new filler neck them as it has the space saver. Defo keeping it as been looking for this one for years and is an original minter. Will a magnet work as a temp ...

Stops running after 5 mins
Recently bought an 84 gtx after 20 years of being scorocco less. Had a few issues as had been standing for 16 years in a garage. Replaced a few sections of fuel pipe, cleaned up the swirl pot accumulator and pump along with a few other bits of brake pipe. All looking good and passed the mot then ...
