yeah had a flich through the haynes but its a bit awkward when nothing states about missing on just one cylinder just general misfires. though i'd add that the problem started when a ht lead came loose and the rotor arm fried (possibly due to the ht coming loose?) corrosion had got into the lead and ...

yep deffo got a spark as i succesfully electrocuted myself earlier on. lol. could the tcih (i think thats what it is under the scuttle tray) cause this or the hall sender?

surely there could be other causes. the problems started with an electrical fault and i've had a few carb problems (not sure how this would cause problems with 1 cylinder). plugs are getting wet which suggests fuel is getting into the cylinder.

regular when i pull the lead off no.4 no change to the engine note. still revs up and ticks over fine but with a massive misfire lol.

compression test would suggest the head gasket is fine though?

having some troubles with my gt2. have changed the coil, leads, dizzy cap, rotor arm and plugs but still have a constant misfire on cylinder 4. any advice on what else it could be really starting to wind me up now. checked the compression and its reading 200psi seems high but musnt be a problem with ...

had a similar problem on mine. whipped the carb off and all the vac pipes were in the wrong order swapped em round and problem was gone

i have a 91 plate gt2 1.8 8v with a 2e2 carb. its been sat for two years and i got it running today. it was idling fine but when you turn the electrics on it starts to hunt wildly from 1000-2000 rpm. a loud click can be heard from around the carb when this happens. i can't see any sparks in the bay ...

just picked it up today and had the wagon driver try and buy it off me all the way home! :hugegrin: nice one dude i know the engine aint siezed so will prime it with oil and fuel and see if the beastie fires up tommorow. will pop some pics up tommorow when theres some light to take some decent pics ...

haha! i'm gonna run it on the 8v lump for a while while i collect all the bits for the kr conversion but that hasn't run for 6 months and it was 1 1/2 when it ran before that....

i'm working on a really tight budget at the mo so weber is out the question for the time being but something i was considerin for the future anyway. new it was a something x code engine
they are the same as whats in a mk1 cabbie yes? what about brakes are they the same as mk1 gtis?
