Hi guys,
As you can probably see i am new to the forum and to sciroccos as well.
going to look at buying one tomorrow and was just wondering what i should look out for?
I know the basics IE. arches, chassis rails, book pan, floor pans, but this are generals for all cars.
was just wondering is there any known problem spots with scirocco's?
Car: Vw SCIROCCO SCALA INJECTION 1992
Thanks in advanced
Jack

Welcome mate,
Start with this guide (in two parts)..
http://sciroccoregisterforum.co.uk/faq/ ... guide-pt1/
Try and have a good feel/check round the wheel arches under the body kit for integrity. Very hard to determine actual condition so take your time going round the inner lip of each arch. of course it's going to be easier to change the front wings if the fronts are rotten.
Also Entire fuel system can rust from filler neck, tank, fuel lines all the way to Combustion, Does it start from cold and idle fine? How is the fuel pump under the car (I am not an injection expert, someone might add their views?)
Overall body condition? Rust at rear number plate lights? Bulkhead where the clutch cable comes through can quite literately give way.
Finally Sun roof? An after market pop up style to my mind is not desirable, as long as it doesn't leak I suppose.
get some pictures up via a Photobucket account or other.
Cheers

All seemed good :) even appears to have a new fuel tank on it, It also had fair amount of work done by the last owner with part history.
All in all im chuffed :) I did say to the seller about this place and by the sounds of it he is a member so if you are make yourself known :)

Nice one mate, looks like it has been given some TLC, part of a batch of white ones I see.
Would be worth making sure the tank and filler neck have some protection some sort of under-seal stuff like dinitrol, Dynax UB or whatever.
Loads of info on here if you search in relevant section.
