Re: Post pics, sig pics and avatar sizes
With a larger monitor or by fiddling with the setting for your existing monitor. Only larger monitors will reveal all of the largest pics set at the board max settings. This is the trade-off for folks wanting a larger pic size.
Name and post count is a set size.

Re: Post pics, sig pics and avatar sizes
I'm having trouble editing my sig pic.
Dimensions are within the 600x100 limit - anyone know what the problem might be - I've changed it ok on the Passat Board
It seems I can't even edit the text and leave the original pic..."It was not possible to determine the dimensions of the image."

Dunno Ry, the sig pics conform to the usual image file size settings. And I've done a pic hosting test so its not that either. Tis weird. Have a tweak and keep me posted.

Don't know if it helps steer you in any particular direcion or not Ant, but I had a similar problem a while back. It was just after there had been a lot of people experiencing problems posting photos into threads and so I thought it was maybe connected. The Autoad wrote:Dunno Ry, the sig pics conform to the usual image file size settings. However, I've just had a play around with my own signature and found that even if you leave the original photo link in place and just attempt to make a change to the text you get the error message Ryan got on preview. Didn't dare try submitting it because it was obvious I was going to lose my photo so I just backed out.
Like I say, don't know if it helps ... just thought it might?

Re: Post pics, sig pics and avatar sizes
Just noticed a change in how photos display in threads and wondering what the thinking was behind the upgrade?
Previously, photos could be posted up to 1024 x 768 pixels in size.
However, logging on today I've noticed that all thread photos are displaying at a much smaller size, possibly about half the size they've been uploaded at. Yes, you can maximise the images by clicking onto them, but this has to be done individually one at a time. Otherwise, you're looking at much smaller images than was previously the case.
I'm guessing there may well be some technical reason for the change (bandwidth etc), but that's all it is ... a guess.
