Storm Paint Code

Post by jimmy h »

Just checking, my project is seriously close to the bodyshop (bits there already!) they are asking for a paint code for it?

Its a light blue Storm on a W plate (mutispoke wheels - final cohort) it never had a boot sticker.

Just done a bit of a search on here: is Light Blue Metallic LK5Z correct?

Sorry if this is often asked, and answered, the last time I was looking into this was 15 years ago!

I have just remembered Dr Dubs site was/is invaluable for that sort of info

LK5Z it is then. I'll update my project thread asap. ;)

Many thanks for the advice/info fella's I'll continue on my project thread soon.

Craig AKA 81 GTI I'll Pm ya soon mate.

I'm struggling to get near the keyboard at the moment, my hands of late have been covered in rust, thinners, paint, crud, oil, grease, filler, penetrating oil, Water-Displacement-40 ?! brake -cleaner etc :hehe: Feels bloody marvelous.

This forum is fantastic, I was looking for a passenger door a while back, Craig put me in contact with another 'scirocco afficionado' I never for one minute thought I'd get one, I picked it up from the bodyshop today after small repairs and paint to complement what will be the finished item.

sincere thanks to a Gentleman in Anglesey. :buddy:

I undeestood the MK1 storms were Silver Green Metallic L99N.
I got this code from Dr Dub's site, I think.
It certainly is the colour of my MK1 Bieber, which, I believe were based on storms.

P.S.
The '79 storms were silver green or black, the '80 storms were light blue or brown.
Should have checked before my first reply!!
