having problems getting my car to work after putting in a new alternator
the new one is an rtx 90amp replacing the old bosch one, i connected it as before on B and D
now the car wont turn over, anyone else installed one of these, any wireing help or anything i should check now?

god dam cant get the thing to work!!! basically the other day, car was running fine, parked up and turned off the ignition, then went to start it up and it wouldnt go. left it a bit and gave it a rolling start and it fired up and got me home, but the temperature gauge stopped working and it was saying id used a rediculas amount of fuel, and prior to this the battery light had been comming on at about 4000 rpm (but only once) once i got home i turned off the car and same thing wouldnt start again. left it a day or so, tried starting and it did, but measured accross the alternator and the volatage was low so got a new one wacked it on and thats not working put the old one bk on and thts not working too... so dunno wats going on now, any ideas or help?

Check the battery - running with a duff alternator won't have done it any good.

Who are RTX?

basically this alternator, comes in a box made by a company called rtx?

tried starting her with jump leads, just havng a no joy

I would be checking all the earths in the engine bay that is related to the alternator, not forgetting the earth on the rocker cover to the coil. You would be surprised at the sort of things that start playing up with a poor earth.

A duff battery would affect things as well, have you a multi meter that you can check it with?

Where are you based mate, there may be someone near that has a spare alternator that you can try?
