Stereo interference
At a certain point when I press the brake pedal the radio crackles. Im assuming its got something to do with the brake light switch but how?

Check your earth lead.

reverse up to a wall and see if the crackle is at the same point the brake lights come on.
check stereo earth is good.
you might get rid of it by fitting a suppressor to the +ve wires going to the stereo

A suppressor is a device that cuts out electrical interferance, you can get them in most motor factotrs or car hifi shops.
I would be going around the car and checking all the earths, and don't forget the one that goes from the coil to the rocker cover, clean them up and retighten.
