getting the trim looking nice again

hey all, the show season is starting and i need to get the gtx lookin its best :), need some advice on getting the exterior trim looking good, dont fancy using back to black or any greasy stuff as it looks horrible, was thinking maybe resparying them all satin black????
any easier method than this without having that horrible shiny look to it??

Not sure what a valetter would think, but I normally recolour stuff like that by degreasing it and spraying it with a vinyl dye.

hot air gun.
I got told it by my valeter mate. Tried it on a terrano and its worked a treat. just hold it 10CM away and go easy it should start to blacken up.

Meguiars Gold Trim Detailer. Doesn't come up gloss, but does come up lovely and black on everything I've tried it on. Gives a kind of deep satiny finish really - looks quite good.

heat gun is the best im my opinion, its quite easy but you just have to go easy on it. however i have been advised that the Autoglym bumper care is also pretty good.

cheers for the info :) will try some products 1st i think, they havent gone grey but dont look as good as they should
never had a strip on the door, as far as i know, didnt have it when i bought the car anyways :)

bought some forever black.
Will try and remember to take some before and after photos when i get round to doing it.
Should work as the picture they use for their advert is an old Jetta.

No sorry got a bit carried away. but it does look really good, came up really black. I havnt got a bodykit though so not sure how it would work on that.
Ill let you know how it lasts.
