loose earth wire

Hi all
I've been having problems recently starting my GT2, which I think I have solved. While looking at the coil I noticed the earth wire from the coil strap is loose at the other end, and is flapping about. Does anyone know what its supposed to attach to? It's got a nut-hole on the end, so it must be screwed down somewhere.
Ta
Phil

I think there is one connected to the rocker cover and this may be it.

Yep, it fits on the rocker cover and is attached with a 10mm nut.

has this wire being loose given you any problems? when that wire broken on my mk2 it ran like a bag of poo, and had a very erratic rev counter

its hard to say if its giving me any trouble really. I changed the plugs about 6 months ago, but every now and then the car refuses to start. It'll do everything but fire up. I'm gonna get a replacement coil, and re-attach that earth anyhoo, and I noticed the Dizzy cap and Rotor Arm were filthy, so I cleaned it off until I change it. It's tough to say what the exact fault is though, as the Rocco only seems to refuse to start when I'm in a hurry!
Theres a bunch of loose wiring/messy wiring under the bonnet. I'm gonna replace/re-attach everything bit by bit during the year.

Oddly enough the same strap is broken on mine, and every now and then it won't start from hot. Turns over nicely, but needs to be switched back off for a minute or two before it will eventually fire. Let me know how you get on.

I left mine off for a bit when I swapped engines and it gave me no end of odd little problems.

Its been a couple of weeks, and along with re-attaching the earth, I've replaced the Dizzy and Rotor Arm. It seems to be starting ok now. First time every time. *touch wood*
