VR6 Transplant, Whats Involved?

Hi all,
Im picking up a Red '89 Scala in a few weeks that I know hasn't moved for the past 5 years because of engine trouble. The rocco is going to be a long term project/hobbie and so I have been thinking of some different mods to do to the car mechanics wise.
What I was originally thinking was to run a 1.8 8v on carbs for the sound but then I heard a golf VR6 the other day and it got me thinking about putting one of those engines in the rocco instead. I know its been done to MK2 golfs loads of times but does anyone know whats involved in fitting it into a rocco?
Ive worked out by fitting the vr6 lump it would make the power about 190bhp per tonne which I think is quick enough for a 20yr old car.
Any help and advise would be appreciated.
Many thanks
