what is the best cam and pulley upgrade you can get for a 1.8 carb gt2

Cheapest i've heard of is upgrading to a GTI cam out of a mk2 golf.

Your question is abit open... as "Best" can mean alot of things. What is the car for? race or fast road use? where do you want your power to be? are you doing any other engine mods?

just want the car for fast road use with good low and mid range power. other mods was thinking of port and polish and full exhaust system.
