Brake fluid Q's...

Stupid question to be the first one on the new forum, but there you go...

I need to buy some new brake fluid today from GSF, and I've left my manual at home. I'm guessing that dot4 is still the best to go for, but how much do I need to replenish the whole system including the reservoir?

I used dot4 on mine when i did the brakes, i got 4 litres but i still have a fair amount left!

I'd opt for getting 2 litres as it should be plenty :good:

Hmm... Got one litre in the end. Hopefully it'll be enough! If not, I'll have to just do the rears and drive over to GSF...

I'm using synthetic high temp stuff as I kinda boiled the standard stuff on some nice twisty roads a while ago

I seem to think it remember I used less than a litre last time I flushed mine.

Don't forget folks brake fluid doesn't last forever and its good to change it every 2yrs ;)

Dot4 is the one to use (according to the Haynes manual) - but it doesn't give an amount to use.
I think it depends on the amount of wear on the pads/discs.
I would say that 2 litres would be enough.
:ok:
