Stripped thread sump bolts!

The saga of my repair to the Scala goes on.
Being pigheaded I sat out in the rain last night fitting the sump and ended up stripping the thread on the bolt nearest the gearbox (the really awkward ones)!
Any idea if it's possible to repair / helicoil maybe?
Is there anyone that would be able to help with it?
Cheers,
Chris

When you say stripped the thread, have you got the bolt out? If i remember correctly there an M6 aren't they? Should be able to get a tap down there easily enough.

did you strip the thread from the bolt or the hole, or did you just cross thread the start of it? if it's just cross threaded at the start, or the bolt stripped, just CAREFULLY! run a tap up it and try again. failing that you're gonna need a helicoil in there

An update:
-Got the sump off and tried to fit helicoil tap into hold but it's too close to gearbox!
-Managed to use slightly longer bolt and a spring washer which thankfully grabbed some more thread further down the hole.
Only damaged to first couple of threads.
This was enough to tighten it up good.

Did the very same, thanks for giving me the solution :)
Worked with a longer bolt and spring washer.
